Phi Mu Alpha Band Day event ..... October 3rd, 2009.
Band Day is an annual event here on campus sponsored by our chapter. For $15 students receive admission to the game, lunch, and the opportunity to be a “Southerner for a day”. This includes a morning of instruction from our top-notch corps of section leaders, the chance to sit beside Southerners during the game and help cheer on the Gamecocks, and in my opinion the most rewarding part, getting to go onto the field with the Southerners and perform traditional stands music for pre-game!
I am aware that this date may conflict with contests and festivals on your calendar. Unfortunately this is the only time we were able to schedule the event this year due to construction taking place at Paul Snow Stadium. If you have any students who are interested and you yourself are not able to attend, then it is perfectly fine for them to come unaccompanied.
The brothers see this as an opportunity to share our love of music with the next generation, and lay foundations for the future of this institution and our organization. The schedule for the morning will be something similar to this:
8:00 a.m. – 9:00 Registration
9:00 – 11:00 Practice session with section leaders/Southerners
11:15 – 12:15 Lunch in Mason Hall
12:30 - Pregame
