2024 Band Camp Information

Welcome, Southerners!

Greetings From Dr. B.

Hello, current and incoming Marching Southerners!

The 2023 season was an amazing experience for the Marching Southerners, from hosting the Alabama Marching Band Championships to performing in the Ceasars Super Dome in New Orleans.

We are all looking forward to band camp and getting started on this show. Please carefully read the information below for important dates and audition information.

REGISTRATION

  • First, complete the Band Camp registration form. This is important so that we know how many members are interested in marching in the Fall. You must register before before June 1, 2024. BAND CAMP REGISTRATION FORM

  • You will be required to submit a video audition for the music portion of the audition if you are a woodwind or brass player by July 1, 2024. Your video (music) audition will be combined with a marching/visual audition at band camp for your overall audition score. The woodwind/brass video submission information can be found HERE.

  • If you are interested in participating in a Concert Band this Fall, the video submissions will be due by August 1st, 2024. The audition information will be released soon.

  • Download the stand music at www.marchingsoutherners.org/music. If you are a new member, start learning all of the stand music and committing it to memory over the summer break.

  • If you plan on auditioning for The Marching Southerners, everyone (including vets) MUST register and attend band camp. We will use the registration numbers to determine how many spots we should include in the drill. You must register before June 1, 2024 if you plan to attend band camp and audition for the band.  When considering candidates for positions, anyone registering after June 1, 2024, will be given the lowest priority. You can register for camp online by clicking here.

  • Percussion Audition Information can be found HERE.

“I offer a sincere welcome to everyone who will be joining the Marching Southerners for the first time. You are about to embark on a life-changing experience. You will find Southerners band camp to be one of the most enjoyable band camps that you have ever experienced. The atmosphere is very positive, and we accomplish a great deal every day. As you prepare for camp, try to stay in good shape and eat as healthy as possible over the summer months.

Your directors and staff are busy preparing for the Southerners 2024 production. You are going to love performing this show. I look forward to seeing this show come to life.

Be safe, stay healthy, and register for band camp today!

Blow Southerners!
