2023 Band Camp Information

Welcome Southerners!

Greetings From Dr. B

Hello Marching Southerners and new members!

The 2022 season was an amazing experience for the Marching Southerners, culminating in the presentation of the Sudler trophy at the 2022 Alumni Reunion. The upcoming 2023 season brings us one year closer to performing at the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France in 2024…members and staff are ecstatic beyond words!

“Reflection,” the 2023 production, has the potential to become one of the band’s most memorable shows because the members, alumni, and fans from across the world have decided the musical selections in the show. We are all looking forward to band camp and getting started on this show. Please carefully read the information below for important dates and audition information.

REGISTRATION

  • First, complete the Band Camp registration form. This is important so that we know how many members are interested in marching in the Fall. You must register before before June 1, 2023. BAND CAMP REGISTRATION FORM

  • You will be required to submit a video audition for the music portion of the audition if you are a woodwind or brass player. Your video (music) audition will be combined with a marching/visual audition at band camp for your overall audition score. The woodwind/brass video submission information and form can be found HERE.

  • Download the stand music at www.marchingsoutherners.org/music. If you are a new member, start learning all of the stand music and committing it to memory over the summer break.

  • If you plan on auditioning for The Marching Southerners, everyone (including vets) MUST register and attend band camp. We will use the registration numbers to determine how many spots we should include in the drill. You must register before June 1, 2023 if you plan to attend band camp and audition for the band.  When considering candidates for positions, anyone registering after June 1, 2023, will be given the lowest priority. You can register for camp online by clicking here.
