Hello Marching Southerners and new members!
The 2022 season was an amazing experience for the Marching Southerners, culminating in the presentation of the Sudler trophy at the 2022 Alumni Reunion. The upcoming 2023 season brings us one year closer to performing at the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France in 2024…members and staff are ecstatic beyond words!
“Reflection,” the 2023 production, has the potential to become one of the band’s most memorable shows because the members, alumni, and fans from across the world have decided the musical selections in the show. We are all looking forward to band camp and getting started on this show. Please carefully read the information below for important dates and audition information.
Saturday, July 8th
These “summer sectionals” are NOT mandatory. Every year, we host Woodwind Day and Brass Day so that everyone can play the music together, receive instruction, and socialize! Additionally, it will give you a sense of what you need to work on before band camp.
Vets and New Members must check into the dorms on July 30th from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. if you plan on living in a dorm for the entire school year. This check in process will take place at the Pete Mathews Coliseum in a drive-thru format. More information about check in will be provided through email by JSU Housing.
